“A Healthy Workforce is the Nation’s True Wealth”
Healthy Body, Healthy Mind — The Foundation of a Prosperous India
The greatest asset of any nation is not its natural resources, but its healthy, capable, and aware citizens. A “Healthy Body and a Healthy Mind” are the true keys to economic productivity, social progress, and national prosperity. Only healthy citizens can fully utilize their physical, mental, and intellectual potential and contribute effectively to nation-building.
The Akhil Bharatiya Shramik Party firmly believes that quality healthcare is not a privilege reserved for a particular class but a fundamental right of every citizen. Therefore, the healthcare system must function as an instrument of public service rather than a means of profit generation.
1. Free Primary Healthcare from Villages to Cities
A strong network of community clinics, primary health centers, and public medicine centers will be developed across wards, village panchayats, blocks, and urban areas to ensure that workers, farmers, women, senior citizens, and all citizens receive free and timely primary healthcare services within their local communities.
2. Maternal and Child Health Protection Mission
Special initiatives will be launched to safeguard the health of pregnant women, newborns, and children. Safe childbirth, nutrition, immunization, anemia control, and neonatal care will be prioritized to significantly reduce maternal and infant mortality rates.
3. Modern Super-Specialty Hospitals at the District Level
Modern super-specialty hospitals will be established and expanded in a phased manner across districts, ensuring that treatment for heart diseases, cancer, kidney disorders, neurological conditions, and other serious illnesses is accessible closer to people’s homes.
4. Preventive Healthcare First
Greater emphasis will be placed on disease prevention rather than treatment after illness occurs. Clean drinking water, sanitation, balanced nutrition, yoga, physical fitness, mental health awareness, and regular health check-ups will form integral components of national healthcare policy.
5. Health Security Program for Workers and Farmers
Dedicated healthcare protection programs will be implemented for unorganized sector workers, farmers, construction workers, domestic workers, and other labor-intensive occupations. Special provisions will be made for occupational diseases, workplace injuries, and long-term health concerns.
6. Affordable and Transparent Medicine System
Essential and life-saving medicines will be made more affordable and accessible through the expansion of government-supported medicine centers and a more transparent, people-oriented drug pricing mechanism.
7. Mobile Healthcare Units
Modern mobile healthcare units will be deployed in remote rural, tribal, and underserved regions to ensure that no citizen is deprived of healthcare services merely because of geographical distance.
8. Mental Health and De-Addiction Mission
Recognizing the growing challenges of stress, depression, and substance abuse, mental health counseling services and de-addiction programs will be integrated as essential components of the public healthcare system.
9. Phased Healthcare Infrastructure Development Program
Healthcare infrastructure will be developed in a planned and phased manner to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the population. Special emphasis will be placed on establishing blood banks, trauma centers, and emergency medical facilities at the block level.
A robust emergency ambulance network will also be developed with the objective of ensuring that ambulance services are available within an approximate radius of 10 kilometers for every citizen, enabling timely medical assistance during emergencies and critical situations.
10. One Family – One Annual Health Check-up
Every family member will be entitled to at least one free annual health examination. Early detection of diseases will help reduce healthcare costs and improve treatment outcomes.
11. Health Education in Every School
Health education, including nutrition, hygiene, first aid, yoga, physical fitness, and public health awareness, will be incorporated as an essential component of the education system.
12. Healthy Workers – Strong India Campaign
Regular health screenings, workplace safety standards, protective equipment, and occupational health services will be strengthened for workers employed in factories, construction sites, and industrial establishments.
